I have a 48" long 75 gallon and was wondering if the mp20 would be enough for it...or would I regret not having the mp40?

IME, I would go for the MP40w right off the bat. I have a 50g Breeder that is 36'' long and the MP20 does a good job of circulation water all over the tank. For a 48'' tank though it might not push much water on the opposite side.

Try and find a used one on the for sale forum on this site. They are always popping up there.

I agree, go with the MP40. I have two koralia 4's in my 75 & still need more flow due to some dead stops.

If you are having any doubts, then go with the MP40W. Also, if you're willing to look around, then you can find some really good deals on the MP40W.

Agreed, MP40W. I have the MP20 on my LPS 58 using short pulse (wave) and it's JUST enough, sometimes wishing I had a little more. If you used some of the more intense programs (reefcrest, etc), it might work a little better. If you're going to do SPS, there's no question what so ever (and you might even consider a second and/or other type of supplemental flow).

I agree with the rest. On my 75g I run a MP40W at 50%, a Tunze 6045 and two 6055's. I like the Vortech but just be aware that they make a fair amount of noise especially when running at 100%.
