You can get Andy to modify it for a dual beckett and get a taller riser to turn a MR2 into an MR3 (bolt on). Wasn't sure if you were aware of that...

It was cheaper to buy a good used MR-3 and sell my MR-2 than it was to do all the upgrading.

He's upgrading to a larger one. The MR2 is an awesome skimmer. I have one with the old style (smaller) single Beckett and it takes out some really nasty slime daily. I run it really dry and get some nasty nasty organics.

Hey Eric, did you find that the MR-2 wasn't enough for your 55g tank?

Aren't those rated to like 300g? I really want to know since I am considering skimmers that I want to get for my big tank. Thanks.

I've been using the MR-2 to skim a 300 g system and it does a great job. Not sure why I want a bigger and better skimmer, I just do. I think it's a guy thing.
