Mr. Clean Magic Eraser

I've heard rumors and some experience that people have used the Mr.Clean Magic Eraser to clean the INSIDE of their tank. Is this true? Fact of fiction.

Apparently it uses abrasiveness and texture to clean - no chemicals.

I kind of find it hard to believe and am not willing to try it (or use it anywhere near my tank) until I get confirmations that it's ok.

There's a guy on NanoReefs who uses it weekly to clean the inside of his 12G Nano...

Any thoughts on this?

It may be safe, but I know I won't be using it on my tank. There are easier and better ways to clean the inside -- IMO. But, it works great on the walls of my place.

the foam deteriorates and I would not want it in my tank. Even if it did not contain chemicals. They work great on glass top stoves though!! and if you have white appliances they do a great job of getting grime off handles

I agree, idk about a tank, but they sure work well around the house.

yeah, same for me. it is juicey. i have to assume that what ever is in it that makes my leather couch damp, but amazingly clean cant be good for the ole'tank. why would you want to use this anyway? in this case it seems to be a solution without a problem.

When I use it around the house I see that it breaks into very tiny pieces.

They are full of chemicals. I stupidly decided to use it to wash m arker off of my son yeh huge mistake!
He had red burns on his face =/ I felt really bad but at least by the end of the day it was better but i'll never do that again.

asherah

I agree - i'm not going to use it. It was more of a 'lets discuss' type of thing.

As for marks on your son's face - I think it's probably due to friction and not chemicals.

Case closed I guess.

That would be my guess, there are no cleaning chemicals in a magic eraser.
