is it possiable to get the 1/2" NPT union disconnect barbed fittings for both the input and output sides on this unit? it will work better for my setup.

Thanks
Sam

Hi Sam,

I wish it were, but two elbows won't work because they can't turn on that size lid. Also a straight-up union fitting won't work either as the union nut is too big and hits the other elbow. Best bet is to get a threaded nipple and thread x thread 1/2" coupler (both should be available at local hardware store) and raise the second elbow above the first. Sort of like we did with these reactors:

ok one more thing, do you know when you will get more in? I need to order 2 but it says you only have one in stock. looking at the "you build" ones.

Thanks
Sam

thanks, I also ordered 8 of the 3.5" mesh disks to use with the GFO and carbon hopefully that is the right size for the MR5 reactors.

thanks
Sam

sounds good. looking forward to my first attempt at working with acrylic. the video makes it look easy enough though:D

sorry for all the questions but hopefully the last one for now. how much bio pellets (ATB brand) will the MR5 reactor hold? and will a mj1200 be enough to power it with the pellets to where they won't clog up?

No problem :)
MR5 will hold about a half liter of biopellets when fluidized properly. A mj1200 will be enough flow.

got the reactors in the mail today and got one completed minus the most important part (the stickers) but went together very easy and the video made it very smooth. not bad for my 1st time working with acrylic :D

thanks very much again, hopefully next week or when you get more in I will be ordering the MR10 or MR16 and biopellets.

I just have 1 suggestion, with the ball valves that come with the units they really don't fit the tubing very well or are very hard to get on. they are the 16mm size. I had some 13mm size ball vales on hand and they seem to work much easier for the tubeing and such you supply. other than that I am very well pleased with the units.
