Where can I find it locally?

I haven't really looked for it, I'm being a bit lazy right now...but I'm about to go on a scorched earth attack on some shrooms in my tank.

Dang...I was just at Fry's a couple of days ago, and I didn't think to look for it. Thanks.

I figure if I can nuke ~1/2 dozen shrooms a week my tank should be shroom free by 2014. :smokin:

Wow - I've never heard of shrooms being a problem. Mine are well behaved. Maybe I don't have the right conditions in my tank. I wouldn't mind a few more of them. Maybe I should be careful what I wish for.

haha dang shrooms!

Yessir.

Walmart also, where the canning jars are!

I've looked at Wally World before, couldn't find it...which doesn't mean they didn't have it, just that I couldn't find it.

If they would stay put, maybe I could live with them, but they don't. They let go and float all over the damn place. I lost a monti cap & an ORA Joe the Coral frag to a wayward shroom. Now they have a foothold on the right side island of my rock...the side with all my SPS.

They came in when I moved the rock from my father in law's reef. Thought I'd just live with them. Then I traded/ sold as many of the smaller shroom rocks I could. Now I'm down to the ones on the big pieces of LR, and removal would require a total tank breakdown. I tried a couple other methods to kill them with limited success. Then I got lazy, and now they are getting OOC. Time to show them NO MERCY!!! :uzi:

Can we see a pic of this shroom chaos? I don't keep sps, and actually think shrooms are quite fascinating! :)

No joy on Mrs. Wages at Fry's or Bashas by my house. The search continues...maybe...I'll probably just go pick up some aquarium kalk...not worth running all around town to save 5 bucks.

I'll have to get some pictures. I never take pics of the shrooms specifically.

I use powdered citric acid on pests like aiptasias and green algae. It's like 55 cents an ounce in bulk at Aquavita. The aiptasias melt like slugs sprinkled with salt. I suppose the citric acid does the same as kalkpaste but on the opposite pH range? This stuff is pretty strong, and may eat through rocks if left on for too long. I haven't done any research on using it, but it cleans my dirty rocks like crazy, and literally melts the aiptasias.

I should add that I take my rocks out as I treat with the citric acid. No clue on what that stuff would do to your water column if you can't take the shroom rock out...

Some pictures for Jmnazari.

Few things...

I just popped the actinics on for a minute to shoot these, so the shrooms aren't fully expanded to their full, devilish glory. And I just shot these with AWB, and I didn't shoot in RAW, so maybe not the greatest pictures.

These are on the exact opposite end of the tank where they started out. Dangerously close to the AC Green acro, and the pink danae. Also spreading to other parts of the SPS island of rock. Tried to get a shot of Bubble Gum Millie frag that they are literally killing, but couldn't get a decent shot of it.

When they're fully expanded, they are overrunning these zoas.

And I could live with them if they just stayed over here. They can't eff with the torch or the hammer. :D

WOW! I'm at a loss for words and ideas hahahaha. It's like, you need a predator animal to eat all away all the mushrooms.....maybe there's a type of butterfly or wrasse that would stay away from your very nice sps. Are some of those mushrooms the ones that look like watermelon?
