MTRC is great

This is exactly what I had in mind when I joined MTRC. To have other people that love this hobby and aren’t stingy or arrogant about giving advice and help people that don’t know (Like me) and love explaining how and why things work and volunteer to show you if you still don’t get it.

Things like the Frag Swap further show me that the $$ that I paid for the membership have not gone to waste.. Everything about the Swap was very well done and even though I went Friday to try and help out everything was pretty much already done. That just shows how much commitment there was to getting this thing done right. And not just by the President of the club but by everyone that could volunteer to be there to help.

I have only been in this club since July of 2007 but I can honestly say that I don’t regret joining one bit.

From the first meeting I went to the swap that I just attended I have meet the nicest and most helpful people around…

Guys and Gals like Chris S., Wayne, Mikeyjer , Abiathar , Angela S, etc… this is just a very small list of people that I have spoken to or met that have been very friendly and helpful even though they hardly know me at all..

If there is anyone out there who has been thinking and thinking of whether to join or not or whether it’s even worth the $$ I’d say that is not even worth thinking about…

Just the $$$ You can save using your discount at AC, Emerald Bay and Fins of Franklin is worth the 20.00 membership fee.

Just from the 14 Gallon Oceanic Biocube w/stand I bought my wife for Christmas I saved more than the membership itself and that’s not including the other stuff I buy all the time.

And it still doesn’t include the stuff that I have won from raffles like the Blue Ricordias I won at the Emeral Bay meeting a couple of months back or the Vacation thing for siging up early… Heck even the Dual timer I won as one of the door prizes at the swap.. And that is just bonus stuff that I most certainly wasn’t thinking I would win seeing as how I had never won anything before in my life.

Special thanks go out to Jack who always responds to my questions very fast and explains things to me till I get it.. And Gsusfreak who is always helping me out and giving me small frags whenever he has them available and is about to hopefully show me how to frag corals since I don’t know how..

And all this from people who don’t know me personally but just know that I love this hobby and am still trying to get to where they are at.

Thanks to everyone who has(or will) help me out… Without all of you this club would mean nothing.

im in the same shoes as you mike...because so many people are willing to help, i give a lot of my corals away....and because usually i get them for free, or next to nothing...im a "pay it forward" kinda guy, so my generousity comes from others ive met

I'm with you 100%, could not have said it any better. I also just joined in July and....Wow... I have learned so much, everyone is always glad to help and seem to be happy about giving that help to you. Thanks to all the mtrc.

It's what we had in mind when we started it several years ago. I am still amazed at what it has become/is becoming and thankfull for all the hard work that is being put into MTRC:D

I def have to agree with ya Mike. You've been a member a couple months longer than I have, but everything I've seen and all those I've met have been great. I think that when new people start in this hobby and are treated well by their LFS's and local clubs they stay in the hobby longer and treat others equally as well. I've been a bit quiet in this club and my car club over the holidays with so much going on but plan on doing more in each through the year. I've been lucky to have picked 2 of the best clubs to join, also to of the most $$$. I look forward to meeting more people from the club and getting to know those I have met better as well as sharing what little knowledge I have and learning more to add to it.

Thanks to all for being a great group of people.

I agree Mike. One of the things I love about it is that no one is really left out unless they want to be. Everyone sort of has a place, even if you're tankless its usually fun to talk to ya! And thats one thing most reefers are not short on... words to share. ;)

I love this club and I feel as though we serve our purpose very well.

Kudos to all!

This area needs people like MTRC. The Frag Swap is an excellent idea and we help the reefs grow back and keep the hooby alive while growing them in captivity and sharing.I am all for that.
