i have a mushroom that is turning white? i know the house is hotter or is it toomuch light pc's havent been a prob in the past no chillin cause it's a nano i thik it's a ric if that matters any help always appreciated thx rh

How long have you had it? Bleaching is definitly a sign of stress. Check your parameters, esp. PH and Alk. Did you move it recently? It may be getting too much/not enough light.

ya, to tell anything, you'll have to find out what all the parameters are. and as said before, pH and alk are the main ones. what lighting is it under? whats the temp?

how strong tho is what i meant..srry bout that...i'm guessing its the lighting that comes w/the nano's which i thnk is fine, but it could be one of those little tiny pc's which might not be enough.

i will check ph and alk it is in the same spot with the house being warmer i thought this might be an issue maybe too much light 10 hrs a day i will let u know the results thx all

Those fans are cooling down the light bulbs, not causing evaporation. Evaporation cools very well, all you have to do is keep the front part of the lid open. If you need more than that, you can get a little clip on fan to run across the water. You can reverse the light cycle and leave the lid all the way open during the day, this will help a lot. If you need even more, you can have a fan on it, if you do this, make sure to have a heater to balance the fan running non stop, and of course you have to make sure to close the lid before the lights come back on.. All of these except reversing the light cycle will require you to add more topoff.

Water temperatures at or above 85F can cause bleaching, so can large day/night temp swings.

i leave my lid open 24/7 and when my pcs come on in my nano it only comes up 2 degrees which i know is quite a little bit but it works for me when the lid is closed it does get up to about 84-85 mine stays at about 80 with lid open

I have a jbj 24gal. I took off the front part of the lid and set a little fan by the tank that is turned on when my pc lights are on. My tank stays 80 or under. I am also running 2 mj900s on the tank.
