Mushroom Preblem

As you can see to the photograph below, I have lots of green and blue mushrooms. Almost all live rock is covered from them them and there are killing all the other corals exepto from bubble coral.

How can I kill them??

Personally, I'd get rid of the SPS before I killed the mushrooms. You're gonna need to replace the rock if you want rid of the mushrooms.

Discosoma are pretty good at killing most other corals they come into contact with. Your best course of action would be to remove the acro from the rock and remount it on another piece with no mushrooms. Then you can either remove the rock with the mushrooms from your tank or reposition it well away from your other corals.
Killing the mushrooms would be a shame and pretty difficult to do. If you want to get rid of the mushrooms I'm sure a lfs or fellow reefer would gladly take them.

+1 on this. Instead of getting rid of the sps though, I'd mount it somewhere else temporarily then place it on the new rock if you do that.

Mushroom problem...

Mushroom problem...

hey i have a tank that i would love mushrooms growing like that. i have live rock and if you want to send pics of some of the rocks you would like to trade, i can find some in my tank that look equal in size/shape/weight so you can just replace instead of kill

I have stopped fighting the mushrooms in my tank. My rocks are absolutely covered. I have decided to love them

this made me laugh. If you cant beat em, LOVE THEM.

I agree with what others said. somehow they always leave a piece of foot behind and that grows into a few more mushrooms. heck, just take the whole dang rock and sell it. You can probably replace that sps and then some.

Ι took all the rock out of the tank and with my friends we remove all the mushrooms manualy and then we put the rock inside aggain.

One week later we did the same cause some manage to avoid us. After that a reef expert of one of my friends made the aquascape.

I live in Greece and here is very difficult to find good rock!!

I hope you gave the rock a good scrubbing... If you don't get the foot off the rock, the mushrooms will just grow back from the foot alone. Or at least it could.

That is very true... didnt realize that. Don't have to worry about that here. I can pick up dead rock everywhere near the keys. They pile that stuff up.

+1, unless you hit those things with a wire brush or something chances are you're going to be seeing about 300 tiny mushrooms in a month or so...
