Mushroom Splitting or Dying?

This mushroom has been great for the longest time, then a week ago I noticed it was literally tearing in half. I figured it was splitting but the today I noticed a tiny piece of it on a rock below it. Is this thing splitting and reproducing or dying? All other corals are doing great.

Awesome thank you, I figured that splitting was cool, but realize that dropping young ones off was possible. Looks like freebies for my buddies

I love fuzzy shrooms and ricordeas when they split. They always look so pathetic and then just heal so fast. Some of my favorite corals.

No doubt! Tonight it looks amazing, like 2 perfectly good mushrooms with a mini one below them. These are my first of this kind so it is cool to see. My bigger tank is coming soon.....
