mushrooms splitting, I think?

I just upgraded my light and along with a few other cool things I have noticed since the upgrade, I noticed that my mushrooms are starting to take on a figure 8 shape. I think they are splitting. Is this the shape they take while splitting. If not please let me know what is up!

My blue spotted ones are doing the same.
All the ones that are in one particular bunch are looking like that.
Some that are on the other end of the tank are still round.

i now have the same mushrooms under a 150 w 14K metal halide in a 30g tank..the mushrooms are over in the corner partially shaded and they are spitting like crazy now. I also have a frogspawn in the same tank that is splitting and growing extra heads like crazy too.

For a second, I thought you were talking about my tank

I have a 29 gal, with 150w 14K MH, and I have a hammer with 6 heads, and recently about 4-5 tiny new sprouts. Also got a hairy mushroom that is almost completely split, and I didn't even notice it until recently. I guess because of it's position and movement with the water the figure 8 wasn't emphasized.

Yeah, you'll come to a point that you'll be sick of how much the shrooms do split. THey will drive you crazy creating battles with other corals if you don't help harvest them!
