i have a six gallon bowfront. it has done ok since i started i have 1 clown , 1 fire fish, one blue velvit damsel, 1 scarlet cleaner shrimp, 2 snails. my amonia is 0. my nitrite is 0. my nitrate is off the wall. i also have a nice rock covered with mushrooms , a rock fllower anenomie my favorite. the mushrooms are not doing as well as they have been doing . as is the anenomie. how do i lower the nitrates other than water changes?

Get rid of two fish. 3 FISH IN SIX GALLONS OF WATER!!!!!!! In the nicest most respectful way I can put this... That is extremely cruel. I don't know what a "Rock flower anemone" is but anemones need A LOT more light, water volume among other things.

So anyways fish can tolerate high nitrates but corals can't. I don't see a way you can lower your nitrates with a bio-load that size in such a small amount of water.
