I picked up 2 true perc clownfish today and 2 new types of zoas. no pictures of the clowns, but here are a few shots of my zoas, i think they're my favorite things in the tank,
the two larger frags of 25+ polyps were bought today. the rest were from the user "arpaz"
russ49merc: I found a video that showed someone installing the fission skimmer and I folowed that. I searched for that video again but couldn't find it. You have to make sure everythink is "stacked" in a vertical position. Then it just barely fit into the 2nd chamber and it was easy to disconnect the elbow from the top part. i just had to keep trying so that it'd stay together.
What lights do you have on your tank? i have a 12 g nanocube but its a lttle older and i keep hearing that my lights aren't strong enough for all the corals i want...
i have the stock nanocube dx, it has 2 24watt power compact flourescents. i was thining of upgrading , but i'm not too handy with wiring and these lights are doing fine.

Originally posted by AEALOVESHERGIRLS I'm going to get one of those spining things, I hope it fits on my 24 gallon return!
so are u going to adventually place the zoos on a rock or keep them on the sand and for a little tip that i like to do is to wedge zoo frags where the polyps are close together and put them in between 2 rocks in a crack seperating the 2 rocks and when the grow out it makes the 2 rocks look like one big one so thats just a little thing i like to do with my zoos
i put about half of my zoos on one rock just to clear up the sandbed. as they grow i'll find different places for them. i'll likely get a 24gal aquapod within the next few months to keep zoas in one tank, and the more territorial stuff in the other. just an idea at this point.
Any nano reefers in the Chicago burbs, I've got a couple more pieces of Galaxia, some more grn hairy mushrooms and a brn skirt orange center zoo colony. You can see the Galaxia and grn mushroom in Matt's tank shots.
