Ok so here we go my first saltwater tank. After keeping freshwater for most of my life, like most starting out with a little goldfish bowl when I was 5 with my dad to keeping African cichlids the past few years. I have realized that freshwater just isn't doing it for me anymore I will be keeping my cichlids but I just want more colorful tanks and more of a challenge for myself. Being only 16 years old and trying to do a saltwater tank on my own some might say is crazy but I have been doing my research lurking on the forums for a few months now and will continue to learn and research.

Ok so on to the tank (what everyone is here for anyways

First I picked up a used 150 gallon dual overflow aquarium along with a 40 breeder for a sump
Then I built my own stand (thanks to the king of diy on YouTube)
I installed baffles in the sump
Next I picked up 3 black box LEDs ( could use some advice from any users or past users on tuning them in) and built a mount for them
Next I picked up a sicce 4.0 return pump and plumbed the tank using braided tubing

The things I will be picking up as soon as possible are:
140lbs of black live sand
150lbs of Rock
Maxspect gyre xf150
Neptune systems apex with ph probe
Jbj ato
Bubble Magnus curve 7 with sicce pump
Brs dual reactor for gfo and carbon
Thinking of a bio pellet reactor but I would like some input here
mix of Hanna checkers and Red Sea test kits
2 300 watt heaters one main one back up

It will be a mixed reef with mostly zoas and lps
I plan on using instant ocean reef crystals
I plan on doing 20% water Change bi weekly

I would love to hear any questions/comments/concerns you may have so please let me know I will be posting updates as they come but they may be slow
