I've just figured out how to re-size and upload pictures, so here's my tank! It's about a year and a half old. Thanks for letting me brag!

Gill: Yeah, it's a coral beauty and my tank is slim, the filter is built into the back. Thanks for the compliment!
Mg: I've had the goniopora for about four months now, and thankfully it just keeps doing (and growing) better and better. My husband bought it for me as a surprise, but he's not really into reef keeping and didn't know anything about them. I figured I would try my hand at keeping it rather than stress it out further by taking it back to the store, and so far, so good! It's skeletal base is about 3" diameter and when the polyps are fully extended, it's almost the size of a soccer ball.

Gill: My bad, she's not a yellow tang, she's a mimc lemon tang and she's longer than she is tall. (And the biggest pig in the tank; eats out of my hand). She's changing from her juve color of yellow to adult color of brown right now so that might be where the shadows are coming in at. My coral beauty will give the brain and leather toadstool a second glance every now and then, but so far she just picks at algae and eats flake and brine.

I supplement the tank with Ecosystem's Reef Solutions; Kent Essential Elements, Microvert and Coralvite. Everything but Essential Elements (every two weeks) is dosed once a week. When the goniopora is totally open I target feed it (gently, otherwise it just retracts). I try not to fuss over it too much, I don't want to smother it with too much love. I've read in quite a few places that they can live up to a year and then suddenly die, so I hope that it's growth is a good sign. I also know it's important to make sure it is kept free of particles and detritus that may settle on it and they like a gentle back and forth water motion.

I have two urchins in my tank that mow the coraline down. I love the look of it, but I love my urchins more.

Thanks, mg! The only thing that bothers me right now is the majanos (you can see them in pic 2 by the tomato clown). I'm going to order some Joe's Juice and hopefully that will take care of them.
