My Agave's

I have a couple Agave Morph PE's that I collected and thought i'd share a couple pics of them.

The Polyps in the first pic i've had in my tank for a couple of years. They are Blood Red with Blue around the skirt and blue speckles. I have yet to see any others like it. I haven't "Banked" these with any friends yet. I had 4 Polyps and now have 13.

The Polyps I have in the second pic i have had for a little over a year now. These PE's are not quite as red and have blotches of blue. I have shared these with a few friends and we have had terrific growth.

This is my first Thread on RC.

I'd enjoy hearing from others who have similar PE's.

yes, The Blood Red Agaves have certainly been slow growers. Does anyone else have any similar Polyps?

The other Agaves have been the opposite and have grown quite fast.

I've got the Blue Agaves and Red Halo PEs from zoacollector. They both started out as one polyp last Nov, the Blue Agaves are stuck at 4 polyps since Jan, the Red Halos are up to about 10 or so now. Blue Agaves grow soooooooooo slow...stinks because they are probably tied for my favorite polyp!

I run 2 14k 150W MH's with 2 54W T5's and have had decent growth on my Red Halo morph (Glad you mentioned the Halo's as I had not seen them therman, Thanks!) Probably from 10 to over 30 in the last 6 months since I stopped cutting on my colony.

The most impressive growth I have seen with them however has taken place in my buddy's system. He has a 30 Gallon and runs 4 T12 VHO's. 1 75/25, 2 Actinics, and 1 454. I gave him 2 polyps which has grown to 15 or so in the last couple months and they are HUGE, the larger ones are probably the size of a nickel.

Heres a Pic of his colony i took on my Iphone.

Yeah my red halos get much larger too. I'm hoping the Blue Agaves get bigger once they find their stride and take off (assuming some day they will...). Seems like a lot of polyps need to be in the middle of a group of 10 or more before they really get beefy.
