My best steal...

I got this back in May for 2 bucks because the mother colony was infested with algae and about dead and this one corner was all that was left. It looked like it could turn into something nice and I like buying browned out "saveable" items.

Here's when I got it-

Here's now-Any know if it has a name?

Nice recovery.
The coral appears to be a species of Echinophyllia. If youre looking for one of those super fancy, absurd marketing, brand-style names, sorry dont know of one. Youre just as qualified to make up your own as anyone else is.. lol

Very nice. I'd name him "George"

he seems more like a "john"..

quite a recocery..good job

Its either an Echino or a Mycedium. What a beautiful piece. I'm doing the same with a Leptoseris frag I bought for 15 bucks at the LFS.. I hope it recovers like that! Good work!

I don't know I think she looks more like a Sarah:lolspin: :lolspin:

This looks to be a Chalice Coral. It is quite similar to the Bazooka Joe Watermelon Chalice offered by Reef Ready on thier Collectors frag page. I agree though with Hormigaquatic, call it what ever you wish. The fancy names are given only because we can't identify many of the different color variants by a genus AND species.
