My nem has been happy and healthy for about the 6+ months ive had it. About 2 months ago my picasso clowns finally 'found' it and it has been hosting them since. Here is what it use to look like

And then this morning, i wake up to this! Both look like mini versions of how it looked the day before so im hoping it was a good split!

That's good! I have had an rbta split twice now. Like I'm sure some people will say, it is not always a good thing that they split, sometimes it can be due to being stressed out among other things. If you haven't already I would check your parameters just to be sure all is well!

yeah i have seen many mixed reviews on the topic...its almost as divided of a topic as politics lol. So im not sure what to really think now other than, cool now i have 2 nems! lol

Params seem to be good, will test them again when i get home from work today also. I read a few places that they wont really eat for a while after splitting, so i probably wont even try and feed them for atleast a week (assuming, and hoping, they both make it that long lol)

From the pictures I see a bleached anemone. It might be the quality of the pictures though.

Yeah, mine didn't have that connection between them like that, that looked kinda weird, lol. Mine just started forming into two circles with less and less connecting each day until it finally split.

Honestly you don't really even have to have feed them with my experience. Plus, if your clown hosts which it appears it has..If you freed your fish mysis shrimp, typically your clowns will feed the anemone..Pretty cool stuff!

yes the bigger of the clowns always grabs the big 'chunk' of food when i feed the fish and she takes it back to the nem, its awesome to watch!

Yea it must be the picture, they are both the color of the nem from the original pictures. I just snapped the pictures of them after their split this morning before going to work, and the tank lights werent on yet so i had to use room ceiling light to see it.

i'll take some more pics when i get home from work, hopefully they are both doing well and everything lol. Kinda worried/nervous about what might be happening now while im away LOL

I read that in the ocean, they split as a form of reproducing and after the split they stay close to each other to form colonies? I wonder if mine will stay next to each other or will wander around. It looks like the 1 nem is going to stay where the original 'spot' was before the split, kinda curious to see what/where the clone one goes

Mine have been within a couple inches from each other since d they split but I imagine they will wander after awhile.

I think if the condition is favorable, it would stay.

So far so good it looks like!

From the pictures it looks a bleached gbta? I had to put one of my gbta back in my dt n within a few days im seeing the green color coming back. What lighting do you have n tank size? Just keep an eye on it, but besides that it looks nice.

the 2 anemones are definitely bleached. even green anemones should have a hint of brown inside. the split was definitely due to stress. mine split back when the tank had a mini crash. it took almost 6 months for the zoo inside to come back. now both are 8-10 inches wide. keep the water parameters good, and it should recover.

That's what I feel when I saw the pictures. The nems are translucent which is a sign of bleaching. Special care should be given to them.

interested to hear lighting report, and in the 6 months you had it did the color change, maybe you have an older picture, my BTA really doesnt like Ph fluctuations specifically low
