My BTA is hiding

My BTA has been in the tank for 3 days and twice now it has hidden deep in the LR. Is this normal? I seems to do this after I feed the fish, is it possible it got some of the food and retreated to make sure it didnt get taken?

Don't worry. They move around until they find a place that makes them happy. Hopefully the place yours chooses will make you happy too.

Sometimes they hide before they split. Is it large?

Are you feeding it large pieces of food? They don't do well with large pieces. Small is best.

I was waiting to target feed once it found a place to stay. It has been in the same spot so far (of course its at the back of the tank, hard to see) but it might have grabbed some of the food the fish didnt get. It seems good sized, not really all that large. Its amazing how small it can get when it wants to hide. I will let it be for a while but I would feel better if it was visible. In its current location its hard to tell how its doing as I only see the back side of it. This is about as much as I see (sometimes it extends itself out into the tank a bit more):

It looks fine. They are strange and interesting creatures. (Mine twists when it gets bored.)Leave it alone for a week or so and see what it does. They are particular about where they locate. They like light and flow, flow. flow.
