today while cleaning i spooked my hybrid oriental sweetlips/anthias and my green carpet anemone caught him pretty good, within a few seconds i grabbed my sweetlips out of the carpets tentacles and he left a large mass of white spots on my sweetlips, obviously leaving a few nasty stings. Is it expected that my fish wont make the night or will he be just fine after some recovery time. Any input would help. Thanks, Kevin

I had my Seahorse give me a scare once. He was stung from my mini-carpet anemone (the haddonis and tapetums have about the same sting.) I thought he was not going to make it ether, but he was happy as a clam in the morning and fine. I hope he will recover like my Seahorse. Though keep an eye on him.

The same thing happen to my powder brown tang. It ended up pulling though it but then two weeks later it swam into it on its own and didnt. The carpet had a really nice meal that night.

not good

not good

well my sweetlips is falling fast, he has been nearly immobile for about an hour and is upside down, lesson learned dont keep a 120 dollar fish in a reef with an anemone.

I still dont understand why people keep fish in tanks with anemones that they KNOW will eventually catch and kill their fish.
