My cheato keep dying..

Anybody have an idea? Nitrate stays 15 to 20 and phosphate at 0.03. I do wc once in 3 or 4 weeks, dose all for reef, kh stays around 8.0 to 8.5 cal 450 mag stays 1360 ish. All tested by red sea reefer pro or salifert. Phosphate might be low but isnt it enough cheato to survive at least?

if u have the lighting and flow you should consider dosing some iron. I had a similar issue in past, added a few ml or iron weekly and my chaeto exploded.

Funny thing is when the tank was pretty new, it grew crazy with same light and flow.. and then it slowly thinnee out after couple harvest, now if I put it last barely 3 week

I went with a diy recipe from Randy Holmes he said that the iron % concentration is pretty low.. even if u overdose i won't be an issue... I think I was dosing like 5 ml a week. I'm guessing if u follow the instrtuction on whichever brand u decide to go with, u should b fine.. or if ur worry u can always start out w half the recommended dose. I stopped dosing once my chaeto took off... It didn't seem to need it

What light are you using? Iodine, Iron, Potassium and other trace elements will get used up quickly by macros and if there's nothing to replenish them, either through dosing or routine water changes, if not, then you may see this happen. I use Miracle Mud in my fuge, does it work? Who knows? But I'm not seeing anything negative from it and I've always used a DSB or similar in my refugiums. Also, if you need some chaeto to start over, just let me know, I have plenty to spare. I have a 20g tank full of it and I'm about to pull out more from my fuge tomorrow after my water change.

That's should be ok. How long was the established cheato alive for till this happened?

I'm using innovative marine cheato light. At the beginning i had explosive growth with this light. So it might be the minor elements problem maybe.... I'm ok for cheato now I'll just stick to carbon dosing for awhile

First cheato lasted 4 months very healthy. And then one day after 50% harvest done, I realized cheato getting thinner and thinner. It took 1 month to happen like that. At this point I might just do offline on cheato light and change to zeovit or stick to carbon dosing

Is it the 9w version? Even the 18w version could be in the low side. You could try a 30w grow led from Amazon, they're cheap but do a good job.
I'm carbon dosing with TM Elimi-NP and Bacto-Balance, but I have a Kessil H380 on my fuge and the chaeto grows out of the water. NO3 is .2 & PO4 is .03
I'm also ruining a calcium reactor, so PO4 and other trace is in constant supply.
