Hi all,

I have a Crocea clam which I positioned on top of a rock at the bottom. It attached nicely after a day and I moved it careful up onto my rockwork. The rock is very secure as far as I can tell but it seems like the clam is moving on it. It has already rotated 90 degrees from its original position. Is this normal? Do I need to worry about it falling off?

I also have an aquacultured blue maxima (I believe thats what it is) and I have it in the sand. I tried placing it on a rock overnight once but it did not attach. Should I try for the rocks again?

Thanks!

The crocea's can move all over the tank.. it is NOT uncommon at all! The maximas prefer to be in the sand, but can be placed on the rocks.. the croceas like either place, but that can move around to there liking! Hope this helps!

Thanks. Last night my Crocea clam decided to jump off a 1.5' cliff and fall into the sand. I guess I need to reattach it to a rock and put it somewhere different. :(

Guod: I would just put him in a place where he cant fall to far and some place where he might be likely to attach his foot and not fall doww.. if he moves, he should attach himself as he moves to keep from falling!

my maxima moves too.

my maxima moves too.

hi all.
when put my new max in the display, she last a couple of days in choose a right place (she want less sunlight, definitely).
but right now, she is in a live rock very close of the surface. and seems be nice with so much light.
I think she likes a proper live rock (proper form).

bye bye

Do they just sit on the top of the sand or do they bury themselves a little bit? Does grain size matter?
