I have 18g tank and 20 lbs dead rock. My tank was running for 1.5 months .

I had blue damsel and 2 clowns. Then I added small tang .
Since tang wasn't taking food. I fed dead fresh prawn. My bad , I messed up . It gave ammonia spike . It killed my blue damsel and tang . One clown already jumped out the tank overnight two weeks back. Only one clown left.
Forgot to mention I have a crab and small lobster.
Now I did 70% water change .
Before blue damsel was territorial . My close used to stay at top.
Even now my clown stays at top .
Please help.

Can you explain what you mean by at the top? Is he gasping right at the surface or just hanging out higher up than normal?

Gasping at surface. Now I added a pair for him .
I'm worried now. My old clown is kinda giving jerking movement and sometimes vertical position.

Water parameters are fine. Yes dry rocks are cured .
I just read a post. "Jerky movement is a sign of submission for pairing". Is that right ?
Did you test your water parameters? Was the dry rock cured?

Yes that is typical behaviour when they have sorted out their hierarchy. It is a sign of submission so hopefully that means the fighting is over and they can get along swimmingly!

They fight rarely even now . I could see them rubbing in the rock .
The fish stopped jerky movement.
