i finally finished transferring my 26g reef to a beautiful 30g tall. i have to thank marc for his generosity in passing on the tank!
i sanded everything down, painted, replaced hardware, and added a few special touches. the setup includes:

30g tall tank
20g tall sump
cpr in-sump skimmer
cpr HOB refugium w/ light
130 watt pc
computer fan added to inside of canopy
about 40lbs liverock

i like to think this new tank shows a bit of how much i have learned over the past 6 months. here's some pics to give you an idea...

THANK YOU!! to everyone who has been giving me advice, etc. i've had so much fun with this diy project. i have a pair of black occelaris clowns in QT waiting to move in to their new home.

reef on! :D

Where did you get the black ossi?
I have been looking for them for a long time and they seem to be VERY rare..

Are your all black including the mouth / lips?

believe it or not, i got them from petco in vacaville... they get their clowns from ORA... these guys still have a tiny bit of orance on their faces, but i'm guessing it will go away as they grow. they were very reasonable too, only $40... i saw some at john's shortly after he opened.. i dunno if he has any now.

The new tank looks great !

What kind of sump are you using ? I have a 20g tall tank that I just upgraded from (now in a 65g) and I want to use the 20g as a sump, but was looking for some ideas on how to go about it (I've never used a sump before....can you tell !? lol)

Post a pic of it if you can. Thanks !
