My First Coral

I got my first coral yesterday :celeb1:. At the store I was told it was a hairy mushroom, is that correct? Does anyone know the scientific name for it? Should it do well under my 216 watt HO t5 fixture, my tank is 48L"13W"20H". How much water flow should it get? Does it look healthy, the pic was taken a couple hours after putting it in the tank. Is there anything special I should know about it?

Yep hairy shroom. They do well under almost any lighting. Your HO T5 will be great even for sps up high but stick with softies and lps for now, if are still learning about reef keeping. Mushrooms dont need a lot of water flow, just a few power heads will be fine. It looks healthy to me. No special care is needed for them, just keep up on tank care.
