Hi All!
Thank you for reading I am pretty far along my first reef build and just about ready to do some water system testing for leaks and flow.
I am planning to do a couple complete flushes of the system to get rid of the debris from threading all of the pipe, but my question is there any type sterilization I can do? There was a lot dirt and debris I could not reach in the pipes and fittings

I have more pictures coming

Dave

Put a filter sock on your drain. Use powerheads to keep detritus suspended. Eventually it will make its way in to the sock. I like to run carbon in a reactor on day one when setting up a tank. This will help to remove solvents, oils, metals and any other possible contaminants that may have been introduced to the system from both the setup process and from the manufacturing of equipment.

Thank you Bogue, I hope your having a Happy Thanksgiving. Yes it is off to good start. I had 3 areas that had leaks, 2 were just over sites forgot to glue them together. The other area since I threaded all of the Unions together I had 2 that had a some drip, just added more tape no more leak. My last one is a glued 45 degree elbow. That I am working on tonight.
