The real indicator will be growth (not polyp extension and color). Assuming everything is optimal, you should be getting some growth soon.

Give it time newly aquired pieces can take time to settle in especially if it was a wild grown piece.
Your monti should have polyp extention and will devolp lighter tips once it starts growing. It's generally a hardy species and can settle in quick . I would say as quick as 2 weeks .
