I visited a new LFS which has some really nice corals I would love to buy. the only things is the place is infested with Aiptasia. I know no matter what...you are always in risk of getting the pest but are my chances greater...probably 100% if I bought from this LFS?

Do you have a coral QT?

no...I have a 10gal tank I have used to treat fish for ich...but thats about it.

Has it ever had copper in it? You could use water from your reef in that and then whenever you buy a coral, QT it for a week or 2.

just inject the aiptasia with some joes juice, kalk mix, or some vinegar. they really are not hard to get rid of. as long as you get it before it spreads all over.


better yet... blow torch the aiptasia and it will never ever come back

Aiptasia - X is good aswell, I recommended the QT because if Aiptasia does come with them then you can deal it with it in the QT and not your DT

I like the idea of the blow torch better
