well its been about a week sence I got my first anemone and for the frist half of the week he was moving all around my 30 gallon. when I replaced my getting close to 2 year old metal halide he found a spot with in hours. he was extending and almost to his full size when I left for school( about the size of a vary small desert plate) . came home at lunch and BOOM clown had hosted on him. so when the clown left for a while I fed him a little food he closed up and ate it. when I came down the nexy morning he was still shrivled up. this went on for 3 days so today I thought something was fishy (no pun intended) I got to pull him up and the foot of him was completely destroyed on the one side. so I was wodering whats up with that.
heres some pics

Oh my Goodness :( That's horrible! I'm not sure what could have caused that, it honestly looks like someone took a razor blade to his base.

Oh that's never good man .. I can't think of much to be completely honest with you, a sand dwelling worm of some sort? I've been hit by a few bristle worms in my time & it's no cake walk. :( A sensitive foot might take more exception to the sting of one?

Quite the predicament! I'm not sure to be honest bud, I'm not a walking marine encyclopedia like some of the other readers here, try and keep your thread bumped if you want the proper answer!

My idea would simply be a nocturnal nuisance that tagged along on a piece of live rock. How deep is your sand bed? Just out of curiosity, might help to limit the possibilities!

(Don't think you can chemically treat for bristles or other life forms without in turn endangering your prizes, there are DIY Traps for bristles, as well as store bought.)

If he was dying a shrimp/crab/snail might have started eating it. They can tell when they are dead or dying.

well i QT all my LR before i put in for a 2 weeks or someting like that
and my sand bed i consistenly 1 inch but some place it 2-2

Doesn't sound deep enough for a LTA anyway..but I doubt that has to do with it's foot being scalped.
