I think that doglover just has black sand...dont think its meant for FW (but i dont know that its not meant for it either ).

As for the 29, no it is not in the same system at the moment. That was the original plan, yes...to make that the sump and put rock down there and have lots of xenia (natural filter) But i like how quiet it is right now and i couldnt get the overflow to silence (even w/the standpipe) so i just scrapped that idea. Right now i'm not sure what i'll do with that tank....i've got about 20 or so pounds of plain base rock (just dried out live rock) and about 2 pounds of actual live rock (because i had no use for it in the main tank). I guess i'm just gonna let it run together and end up with all live rock in that tank....Its always nice to have a bit of spare live rock...never know when you'll need it

For the light, i want to get a small pendent but i'm having no luck finding one in my pricerange (which isnt much since i'm not working right now during the school baseball season ). I'm thinking 150 or 175w MH and maybe some smaller PC's to run actinics....all hanging more than likely.

not sure really....definately under 200 i can tell you. Lookin closer to like 150 though, unless i can sell some stuff and get some money going to buy it....but i also have to buy either new bulbs or a new fixture for my 40 soon too...So i may keep these lights on for a while till i can get a bit more money.

On the pendant--I've got two for the 40 gallon in the works, but don't know what to use for actinics.

You might want to do some research on the pendants first.

Ya i'll more than likely just weld a light rail together since i weld every day in school anyways. That would solve the problem for actinics....for them i was thinking of using whatever they put in the nano cubes/biocubes...just a full actinic bulb instead of 50/50....i'm sure i've seen them before. Or maybe just the 40w ones that Current uses...which reminds me...i got my current 2x40w PC light for my 10g tank on thursday

cattleman....i take it you've got no canopy? Thats the reason i was thinking of making the light rail. I havent even started designing it yet, but i've seen it done quite a few times and welding is easy enough.

But if you have a canopy for your 40, you could just retro it.
