My New 180 Setup (lotta pics)

I apologize as this is a cross post. However, I realize now that it really belongs here. I wanted to share my latest project.

First a brief history... I recently decided to jump back into the hobby and fire up my 92gal corner tank which I had stored for about 5 years. Everything was going well accept I made a few realizations: 1.) The odd shape of the tank was very difficult to light. 2.) Because the tank wasn't drilled, I wasn't happy with an overflow box 3.) Over the years, the tank was severely scratched which bugged me more than reasons 1 & 2. A few weeks ago, I had a malfunction and my RO reservoir dumped about 30 gallons of H20 on my living room floor. I had to breakdown my tank and move it so I could dry the carpet. A perfect time to upgrade!

To the present... I decided to move up to a 180 RR AGA with a DIY stand/canopy. Here is what I ended up with:

180AGA RR with corner overflows
100gal sump (plumbed into adjacent laundry room)
300lbs of LR in tank (50lbs in sump)

Lighting:

2 x 400W MH (10,000K)
1 x 250W MH (6500K)
2x 96W 3' actinics

Circulation:

Iwaki 100RLT
Mag 7
2 x 3/4" Sea Swirls

Filtration:

Protein Skimmer #1: Corallife 220
Protein Skimmer #2: Predator 1-PDFS downflow
Phosban Phosphate Reactor
15gal Refugium (2 x 65W PC (1-actinic, 1-10,000K)

Auto-Top Off:

32gal RO Water Reservoir
Chem-Tech 100 - Pressure Dosing Pump
JBJ ATO
Kalk Drip (Calcium Reactor in the works)

Current inhabitants:

2x Percula Clowns
1x Yellow Tang
1x 6-line Wrasse
Green Star Polyps
Mushrooms

That looks very nice. Just a quick question though. Are you skimming water from your refugium? If so, you may be losing the pods and shrimps to the skimmer.

Yeah, I am currently skimming the refugium. This is most likely a temporary situation as I am running 2 skimmers to see which performs better. I may end up moving the SS down to the sump soon.

Thanks Thor. This has been my "dream" tank about 20yrs in the making.

"Although it looks like that fan has a 95% chance of falling in the tank at some point"

It looks that way in the picture. However, it is bolted to the side of the canopy. If the fan falls in, I have bigger problems!

It is most likely slightly overkill on the LR. However, I came across a great deal which was all or none. I figure down the road I can either sell some off or move it to the sump (or start another tanK!)

great tank what fish you going to add?
good luck with it.

Thanks. Not quite sure what to add at this point. I would like to add a school of chromis. Down the road I would like anthias and perhaps a large wrasse. Ironically, I have been working so hard to get it set up, I am now at a loss as to what to put in it!
