my new 90 gal build (pic intense)

reefsahoy

I can see thru you!
Normally I don't post like this and my tank is not as exciting as others but figured I'd post my new 90 Gal Oceanic. Bought my friends a couple of beers and started building a sump designed to fit perfectly under my 90 gal oceanic tank. Here's a couple of pics. We did it when we were sober :). By the way my friend that I work with is a master cabinet carpenter and an excellent finisher at woodworking. He can build anything! Thanks again for you help!

the wet test. Note the newspaper to detect any leaks easily. No leaks found and passed with flying colors!!

Here's a pic of my sump installed but first a pic of an idea to get this a quiet as possible. I bought a excersize pad at Kamart for $6 and cut to fit the cabinet bottom.

Very nice sump, great pics, Silvester looks like he is having fun.
Some questions, you went from a 180 to a 90? are you still using t5's in this new tank

Rogger, yes i 'm using T5's. I went from a 210 to 90 because of $ to run and attention to detail. Got a daughter that i bought a new 2007 mazda 3 that's going to going to college very soon. The frag is a pink birds nest and it was at the very bottom of the 210. It was grown from a frag about the size of 2 inches over a year and a half. none of the pics were doctored and the color pink is quite insane. I had to break it away from the LR from the 210 to get it into the 90. The remainding pieces are what is on the frag plate on the top of the 90. If you notice theres quite a few pieces of orange montii's on the bottom of the tank too. That grows like weeds too in the 210. i also had to break that apart. If you'd like I can give you a decent size of the bird's nest just reply and consider it yours..

with the help of sylvester we built a kalk reactor and I also built an auto refill that works awesome and have a triple security backup system to stop any chances of overflowing. That system has been running for over 10 years now without any issues.

Thank you, I will love a piece of the birdsnest, it really looks stunning. keep us up to date with your progress and show us some pics of the custom reactors. Thanks again.

I'll be heading over towards n lauderdale today. give me call if you are avail and i'll bring it over in the am. i pm'd you my phone #. call anytime.

yes. Ive just added mud, sand and chelato ( i think that's how it's spelled). i've also made an awesome light bracket for the sump. the light is on a "L" shaped acrylic plastic which slides into a pocket that is glued to the side of the sump. this way i can remove and access the sump without interference

just bought a bubble king mini 200 can't wait to install it. will post it when i finally install it probably next week.

You remember what it was yesterday when you came by. Well, this is what I actually collect every day in this 2.5 year old H&S (no mods done). BTW, that is really dark skimmate in there ;)

Well, where's yours?
