I have got into a new coral called diaseris, its a plate coral that has scores under the skeleton that make it really easy to break into pieces. Its also what the coral does in nature to propagate by breaking along the lines underneath
Here is my collection
They look like misshapen fugia plates to me, but what do I know. Do they have single mouths like fungias? I love the blue with green edge one in the back.
I just searched them and they're pretty cool. I see them as like the monti caps of the fungia world lol. So what would they be classified as? Chalices?
I would still classify them as a plate coral. They come from rubble and sand zones in the wild. I saw a pic of one on google with red base and yellow rim that was way cool
