Nice!

I've been looking for a very nice frogspawn but am having a hard time finding any. They are all very dull.

Wow, that is a sweet little froggie. What type of camera did you use for that pic? I've read melev's photoshop method, & I saw an example of it on a photography thread, it really did make the pics turn out more naturally colored.

I actually have a little one that looked EXACTLY like that 2 months ago, but has since added 2 mouths. I also have a really big one like that about the size of a basketball.

I love euphilias, and really like green and pink frogspawns.

Beautiful coral but don't the semi transparent frogspawns like this one eventually darken up? I almost bought one but it was $70 and I was alittle worried it would end up like the one I already have.

i dont mean to hijack at allbut i got a frogswawn 2 months ago and it has never fully inflated like the ones i always see here. the "tentacles" look skinny. i have it directly under a 175w 10K, halfway up in the tank and in moderate to somewhat heavy flow. shouldi make any changes?

Nice speciman by the way Psyire, wish mine looked that puffy

Hi IchHater, frogspawns don't like really heavy flow, or very strong lighting. Do you have a calmer, lower light place you could move it to? You have to be sure you keep it at least 8" from anything else - at night their sweepers can reach this long if they really get ticked.

I wouldnt say that you need to move it out of the light. 175 is not normally too much light. I would simply try adjusting the flow first. I have several euphilias direclty under a DE250 and they do just fine. As a matter of fact, they seem to be doing even better under this lighting than under the indirect lighting that they were recieving from a SE 250.
Im not saying that at some point there cant be too much light. But if 175 is too much, then what can they take?
If you like its present location, just try adjusting the flow first and see what happens.

If it has never opened up, your lighting/flow conditions might not be the real problem anyways. It might have been in poor health when you got it, or it may not be happy with your water.
Hope that helps some,
Cubman

Thanks for all the replies/comments! I'm away from home at the moment so I haven't been able to check on things.

If anyone is curious, the picture was taken under 250w 14K EVC MH's.

It's a Kodak 4430, I think? It's a few years old now.. but sometimes I can get good pics with it.
