My New Pair of Lightning Clowns

What do you guys think of my new pair of lightning clownfish. I got them at a great price at the LFS.

They look nice, are they hosting an anemone yet? I had some trouble getting mine to host after I got them. I ended up putting them both in a breeder box with an RBTA and within the hour, both were loving it.

I'm on my third attempt trying to get my lightnings to pair up. The first couple of times I thought she was going to kill him, but her aggression is starting to level out and is getting used to him.

Thanks. They are not being hosted by anything as yet. A few days ago I saw one of them taking a very active interest in a feather duster, he won't leave the thing alone. He just kept swimming up and down close to it as if he wanted to go in. But now he completely ignores it. I have a 6" carpet in the tank, that if they try that it might eat them. I'm not planning to add any BTAs. I had 4 and got rid of them since I wanted the space to grow more hardy stick corals.

Nice clowns! They look very similar to mine. I'm hoping that I don't have to deal with that stress. These little guys are small and both are likely juvis still. I'll keep a look out for any aggression.

Hate to rain on your parade, but those clowns -- like most TR lightnings -- have some serious deformities -- elongated body shape, smushed heads, small pectoral fins and underbites. I'd take a ordinary wild caught gold stripe maroon any day (for a fraction of the price).

Interesting points. None of these qualities were part of my decision to purchase these guys. Nor would I personally consider these points as deformities, except for the smushed head, that's easily recognizable and I personally don't like to see it.
I like the way these guys look and the price was right. And my only hesitation was that they were maroon clownfish. I had a 4" gold bar that was a big PIA.

Probably because they're Maroons that are aggressive as babies, likely not genetic.
