Price and location

I picked it up at a LFS - no shipping :)

The price was $90. It is now one of my centerpieces.

The pic doesn't do it justice. I need to get a macro lens for my wife's Canon 20D.

Sweet yuma.....I lost aboout 7 hot pink yumas over the last 3 years....I had to quite them or my wife would have killed me..Yea thats 7 at $125 a peice or more.
Good luck with your's SD.

Damn good thing I didn't buy the one I saw. Anything over the $100 mark makes me think.

At $90 thats a sweet deal.

i have the same thing, it looks more pink than red tho. regardless a very very nice piece. the bumps on it look like their reflecting bright light.

I'm wondering if your yuma is a bit bleached? Might just be the camera or pic. You can tell if it's bleached by how transluscent the coral is. The more transluscent, the more bleached, which is not a good thing. Hope it isn't. That looks like a beautiful speciman.

What is the trick to keep the red/pink ones happy? I have tried multiple times to keep these colors and they always seem to shrivel up and go away. I would love any help i could get.

Thanks, Jason

Sully,

Alot of times I think they're probably starting to die once they become "ours" anyway. Because once I can have them for over a month they do pretty good. Its getting past the first month thats difficult.

Do they die on you quickly? Or do you have them for a few months, then they die?

I usually like to see it at the LFS for a few weeks. But as you know the good colors don't stay for long. Many times I've gone there and seen a nice color only to go back 2 days later and its gone.

Thanks for the response. I usually get them when they are still not what i would consider nice and full. I cannot ever seem to find them anywhere where they are nice and big and available for sale. So they just kinda diminish over a couple of weeks right after i get them. If you guys know of where i can get some that are nice and big, i do not mind paying for them as long as it's within reason.

Thanks Again, Jason

Sully,

I don't know of any LFS in Oregon. I've gotten a couple from Atlantis Aquarium and they came in good condition. I've been to Frag Farmer and his as pretty nice.
