My new Rose BTA!

I think it's doing very well, but I wanted to post some pics to make sure that my optimism isn't unfounded...

Right here is about 2 hours after I put him in the tank yesterday:

Here is today, about two hours after lights on:

He hasn't wandered at all. Would it have started by now?

Mine sat for over a week in the same spot and then moved up the rocks, closer to the light. Then he parked again. I suspect yours will move. That area looks to flat and open. He'll find a place to protect his foot. But I've been wrong before.

The placement is sort of deceptive. His foot is actually in a pretty deep hole.

I am fully assuming that he will move. I just didn't know if I should have expected it by now or not.

I didn't have room for one when I did a tank a few years ago. I am just starting a new one after a couple of years in apartments and not being able to keep a reef. I started out with this guy as my first invert (except for a few snails and hermits) so that he could find his spot and I could work around him. Things are always much easier to plan the second time around.

Boy, isn't that the truth!!! ;)

Good looking anemone - are you getting it a clown fish? My maroon loves her RBTA. We named her Rosie because she's so protective!

very nice looking RBTA - I just resued a bleached RBTA about 2 weeks ago from a LFS. She's eating a lot so I'm hoping she'll get all her color back.

Awesome that you rescued one and it's turning around. It's always so sad to find animals that haven't been taken care of the way that they deserve. Hopefully they didn't make you pay full price for it. That would have just been wrong.

I am planning on getting some clowns with the anemone. I was thinking maroon, but I hear that they can get aggressive, so that gives me some pause. I like the true and false perculas, but they aren't paired with BTA's in the wild. But I bet they'd make due after a while.

Looking good. What kind of lighting is it under? What size tank? Lighting seems very dull , but could very well be the pictures .

The light is bright as hell in person. I think my camera isn't right for taking tank pics. I can't get in very close and still get a good focus, and the lighting never looks very good.

It's just a 29g tank that I am setting up in a plan to upgrade to at least a 90 in a year. I am running dual 65w PCs. One daylight and one actinic.
