My New Website!

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to announce the launch of a new project of mine: it's called www.wikisift.com

Of particular interest to our group is that the site is also has wiki books as a knowledge resource for different hobbies and interests.
I have started a aquarium wiki book at http://www.wikisift.com/wiki/wiki/index.php?structure_id=13
This resource is just starting out, but I thought this would be a great place to centrally locate knowledge and experiences about the hobby and to create great reference for the group to collaborate on.
Remember anyone can add info here(just like wikipedia)!!

Wikisift is a search engine and forum for people to post useful websites or to discuss experiences. The site is meant to have a similar look and feel to Google on the surface, but it has a lot of features under the hood-- namely that this is a collaborative site, not just a spider crawler. The links that are initially displayed after a search are a full web search(Google’s) have emphasis on sites that users have added(ie user entered sites are pushed to the top link list). When a category is clicked on ONLY user entered sites are displayed… the idea is that the best sites are “sifted out” from the rest of the crap. Users can enter information into the engine in two ways- first by adding or excluding sites directly into the Google search and second by discussing or adding links in the wiki (like wikipedia).

So feel free to use it for the wiki features or as a optimized goggle search! And while your there, help a fellow refer pay the bills by clicking on a few of the google ads!

Let me know what you think!

Nice idea Eric, I hope it fills up with good info. viral sources seem to be booming. soon as i have time to figure out how to use it, I'm not real puter savy, I'll add some favorite info links.

Hi Ken, Thanks.
Feel free to post away! All you have to do is to create a quick user ID, then double click on the page or click edit. you can add text, additional pages or useful web links. then hit save.
Just as a quick note, you have to have brackets around links: [ ] in order to make links live. You can also enter links link this [ sitename|description]. more info is on the site FAQ. you can also practice without saving pages in the sandbox

Let me know if you have any questions
Eric
