I bought some zoas from someone on here and since I'm new, I can't leave feedback about the seller (but he can bash me for asking for a partial refund because he has been on here longer). So, I though I'd show off what I ordered and what I got.

Seller said "This is what I plan on sending you":

So these shipped out on Tuesday and got to my on Thursday. As soon as I got them, I opened the box, took a picture of one that was off it's plug, opened and dumped out the water of each cup (one at a time) and put the frag in my tank so I could take a picture of it. Most of the cups' water smelled so bad I almost threw up. I know that zoas have toxins and I thought that they were stressed from being shipped so they released it into the water and made it stink. These pictures are from 10 minutes after being out of the box and in my tank.

Here's what I got:

Being new, I wasn't 100% sure which were melted/dead and which were just really closed up and stressed from shipping. I didn't want to throw any away in case it might recover, but several were beyond the recovery point. A few of the frags opened right up and look great. Others, as you can see, are dead and can't even be ided so I can't know that he even sent the right ones. All I asked for was a $30 refund on a $113 purchase which I feel is more than fair since the ones that didn't make it (or were never sent) were the more rare.

Pic nine are a bunch of moon polyps looks like. I am assuming the nice pics are what you were supposed to get?

not sure what you are asking that if its justified to get a refund or not. However, there are some factors that should be considered. Doing anything other than next day is taking a risk. Did you have the option of having these next day or 2 day or whatever that does 2 day? Since the weather hasn't been good, it wouldn't have been wise to not to do next day. It does suck to have to lose purchased items before you even get them in your tank. At the least, the sender should send out replacements, if it indeed is his fault. I think the 2 day shipping is the killer though, or maybe didn't let them heal enough.

Good luck, and glad some pulled through.

All the seller said was that the total would be $113 and that shipping is $13. He didn't say or ask what shipping I wanted. For all I knew he could have been shipping them next day and picking up some of the shipping since I spent over $100. He told me I could buy more from him and he would send out replacements with another shipment or I could pay full shipping price and he would replace them. I think $30 is more than fair. He basically told me "too bad for you". Now he won't respond to emails because I was "rude" (I said "I'm pi$$ed off that the pictures of what you said you were going to ship me don't match what I got"). I made a paypal claim, but since it isn't ebay there isn't buyer protection. I called them and they said it was valid that I paid for certain items and received something different than what I ordered so I should contact my credit card company to have them stop partial payment. I just spoke to my credit card company and they are sending me paperwork to stop partial payment. What a headache because of a bad seller.

He said he would replace them if I placed another order or paid full shipping price (basically, gave him more money). I'm sure you can see his thread bashing me (and lying) in the feedback thread. His "facts" change as to when he got certain emails from me, which frags he was going to send, and how he said he would replace them. I have yet to disclose his name on here because I ant to give him a chance to make things right (although it REALLY doesn't seem like he will). He could have saved himself a lot of frustration if he had either given me $30 back or shipped out replacements.

wow sucks. the seller should know how big of a risk it is for 2nd day especially when the weather isnt nice. i hope this gets resolved for you. there is no reason to not respond to a customer. i think its sad, that a seller/vendor uses the excuse that they are "rude." true or not.

Thanks. I'd appreciate it if you wrote that in his feedback thread of our transaction (since I can't post my side on there due to not having 50/90). :)

As far as getting it resolved, my credit card company says it takes about 60 days to even mail out dispute paperwork so it's going to be a while. All I want is my $30 back and I would consider myself ok with the situation and wash my hands of this mess.

I'm sure shipping had something to do with it, but I'm convinced it is more his fault for hacking frags and not attaching them to anything during shipping so they rattled all over the place. Like I said before, a couple of the frags were really happy and opened up fully right away. A few that were a little more jostled in shipping took a few days to recover, and some were just dead. I find it hard to believe it is my tank or my fault since some were happy the instant they hit my water.

you should of and from now on made sure these were being shipped nothing but next day air. and you souldnt stress yourself out over 100.00 it could of been a 500.00 chalice and the whole thing could have been dead. at least you have a few dont stess lifes to short. just be careful who you deal with.

These were the first corals I've actually paid for. (I had some freebies that were cheep commons ones that a friend gave me to test the tanks and see how corals would do). I was never given the option on shipping except the $13 shipping. I'm a substitute so $100 is actually a lot for me. "Don't Stress"... THERE'S a phrase... My dad has stomach cancer, had his stomach removed in July, and is now going through chemo and radiation, my boyfriend was shipped to Iraq the same day my dad came home from the hospital, and like I said, I'm a sub so I don't always have work. This mess was just another headache that I REALLY didn't want to be this messy. All I wanted was to sit and look at the pretty coral in my tank and keep from going crazy. Now I look at some pretty coral and some dead coral and fume. Too bad I don't have 50/90 so I couldn't even see the feedback section to know what kind of a seller I was dealing with. Since he's bashed my name in the feedback section and I can't dispute it, and still won't respond to my pms either here or email, and since I've had to make a claim with paypal and my credit card company, I though I'd share here. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM aznnutty. BAD SELLER!!!!!! :blown:
The proof is in the pictures. If a mod sees this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help make this right; be it by letting me post in the feedback forum, or letting aznnutty know that you don't condone that kind of fraud on this forum. Anyone else who feels inclined to pm him and let him know what you think of his business practices, feel free. Anyone who wishes to see more of the details or have more qs answered, feel free to pm me.:furious:

were the frags in the seller's pics wysiwyg? or just pics of the types of zoas you'd be getting? did he say they would be fresh cut frags or healed? (sorry if i missed that detail earlier)

i didn't see any frags in seller's pics that had yellow polyps on them or that were glued to the bottom of a broken frag plug (your 4th pic)...

also, if you have lugols and/or coral revive, i'd try dipping those zoas if you haven't already. and maybe again in a couple more days.

that's rough. speaking as someone who's been burned by online vendors (not this one; i'm not judging either way), imo best way to get corals is to find a local reefing club or two and work the trades there or only deal with locals so you can see the goods before you hand over the cash.

hope this works out for everyone.

He said "This is what I plan on sending you" and sent me those pictures. He never sent pics of the yellow ones and said nothing about them. The only pics I got were of the ones he sent, and what I received did not match what I ordered. (Part of why I'm so pi$$ed). He didn't say if they were going to be fresh or healed.

thats why you should have just contacted me...:)with $100 you will go home with a big smile since u love zoas...u dont have to pay shipping,im only 20 mins away..:Dand u will actually see what u are gonna get....

dont worry theres always karma...
next time u buy make sure to do next day air...sometimes it sucks because shipping for next day is a rip off...i buy something that is really worth paying the shipping...
and next time u deal with someone here or to any other forum, make sure it has a lot of positive feedback and a reputable seller..

aznnutty has some good feedback from what i have seen. but if there was a bad transaction i do believe that you should be able to post feedback regardless how long you have been on here and your post count. but then again i dont think your supposed to be able to use the selling/buying section unless you have been on here for 90 days and a 50 post count or higher. so in a way you should not been allowed to buy them.

i wish you the best of luck with this all.
