My NPS Tank Build

Very nice, one question though. Doesn't the sea horses require little to no flow while the AZoox stuff want a ton? Any issues with that yet?

I think that seahorses can deal with flow better than commonly believed. They seem to be thriving and the gorgs are staying open almost all the time.

I agree with Cuttlekid; seahorses can tolerate a lot more flow (once full-grown) than commonly believed. My H. erectus are in a mixed azoo tank with moderate flow (no powerhead) and are totally fine. To be honest, I'm considering adding a powerhead to my system because they tolerate the flow quite well.

To address Coltrref's point: the gorgonians get used to the seahorses hitching to them. they do not like it at first and quickly retract their polyps, but over time, they keep the polyps around the hitched seahorse extended. That said, one thing to watch out for Cuttlekid, is that the horses hitching to the gorgonians will wear off the fleshy part of the gorgonian and it will die around that portion. you can cut and reattach (I've had to do this a few times) and it will bounce back. One thing you can do is to provide other hitches for the ponies. I have two colt corals that look pretty decent that my erectus love to cling to. The colt corals do not mind it at all and it keeps the horses off of the gorgonians.

BTW, the first erectus is stunning. I really love the cirri. You've inspired me to upload a few pics from my tank today...

nicewicz, feel free to upload your pics right here. i would LOOOOOVE to see your tank and seahorses. I feel that seahorses and azoox corals just look great together, like a blue carpet anemone with black clowns.

Trying to post videos so they can be viewed directly on this forum.

Anyone know how to do it?

RIP seahorses:( My tank got too hot for them during the heat wave. On the positive side my corals especially the gorgonians are staying open and recovering from tissue loss. I'm afraid that I will lose two of them but I will wait and see. I have seen first hand the damage seahorses can inflict on gorgonians even in a short period of time.

It has been a while since I updated last. I just got back from vacation and am now starting to attend college. It has been a hurdle just to keep up the tank let alone take pics and update this thread. But anyway, i have to say i have neglected my tank a bit but i am back on track with the daily tank routine and maintenance. So hear are a few new photos of my tank.
Sorry for the bad pics. I rushed to take them because i have to start my schoolwork.
