My pH keeps going up and up

My pH keeps going up and up. The pH is actually steady but over the past 3 days my ACII has steadily been going up and is now around .3 above actual. I re-calibrated (I calibrated the new probe about 4 weeks ago) and everything is back to normal for now, but why did that happen?

When you say "going up", what does that mean. pH usually rises during the lighting cycle and becomes lowest just prior to the lights coming on. Can you give us some of your pH readings?

There was no "low" at night or "high" during the day for about 3 days. It started at 8.1 in the morning at day one, and by the end of day 3 (when I recalibrated) it was at 8.7. It just progressively went higher over the course of 3 days.

Do you have some more calibration fluid? It sounds like it didn't take correctly. I would suggest that you recalibrate your probe.

I recalibrate my PH probe every 4-6 weeks. I thought it was normal for the probe to slowly become out of whack. although I though readings gradually got lower not higher.

Do you have some more calibration fluid? It sounds like it didn't take correctly. I would suggest that you recalibrate your probe.

Yup, I did and everything is fine again. I just didn't think that I had to calibrate every month or two.

I calibrate about every 6 months or so. I am glad that everything has worked out good for you.
