My phosphates are high

My phosphates are .5 in my 12g frag tank with all sps in it. Can I do daily water changes to lower it or will it shock them if i get it down to fast?

A gallon a day to be safe and make sure the water is premixed at least the day before and well aerated and temp matched. And just keep that up for 4 or 5 days and if it's still not enough you could then go up to 2 gallons a day for another 4 or 5 days.

Slower change even good ones in particular in a smaller system is key.

A system of that size water changes are easy and a phosban reactor might pull phophate levels down too much too fast and thereby shock the delicate SPS frags. If it was 50 or 90 gallons I'd say go phosban route. I wouldn't try that on such a small system.

yea tank is to small for a reactor. you can tell sps aren't that happy right now. hopefully i can get them down soon.
