What do they eat anyways?

Most nudibranchs eat a specific species of sponge or bryozoans and will accept no substitutes. Because of this, only experts who have had considerable experience with and knowledge of Nudibranchs should attempt to maintain them.

This is one of the Chromodoris nudibranchs, and like aural said, feeds on particular types of sponges - which never seem to be the ones growing in your tank....too bad, they are really nice looking. I also wonder - since they spend so much time out in the open and are so brightly colored, they must be really noxious to other animals, else they'd quickly get eaten.

I flushed a Nudi down the toilet the other day. It was a xenia eating type. Lost my Bali to it and since its "host" was gone, I guess it started floating around and got sucked into my intake. Glad I have a micron sock on to catch it. Bastage.

dammit. i need a xenia eating nudibranch something fierce. actually i need like 10 of them. I'd like to get some real estate back in my tank!

I think it's specific though, it only attacked my Bali xenia, all my other ones are fine.
