my skimmer pump only turns on when i bang it, can someone recomend one for aquamedic?

if the power goes out and im not there to turn it back on it will never turn on. i basically have to bang it until it works. the pump that dr foster reomends is expensive and i dont see a airline in the intake to make adjustment. pump should be rated at 625 gph.

Have you cleaned the pump? A soak in vinegar will remove calcium deposites that might be causing the impeller to hang up.

So thats whats stopping it from turning? i didnt clean it with vinegar but i did clean and noticed no dirt.

ill try a new impeller sirreal and see if that works. thanks

i do not have that pump on my unit, original owner must have switched it out...

If you do not have the same pump then which impeller are you getting? try soaking the pump in vinegar for 24hours
