My tank "clicks" at night, and only night. i have tried to find the source but i am unsuccessful. any idea what it is or how to catch it?

its 1-3 clicks quickly (few second in between), then it could be 1-10 minutes before it starts again.
mantis=bad
pistol=ok?

most are nocturnal and are active during the night some people set traps most people end up seeing the little monster go in a rock then they nab out the rock without getting your fingers smooshed

ok, but if i cant find him will he venture out of far enough from his hole to go for a trap i set in the center of the tank?

Do people want mantis shrimp? I had one that was 2" long and thought it was a pest so i flushed it. That was about 7 yrs ago.

U might want to get that out real quick... the noise is them pecking at the bottom glass of ur tank... If they keep doing it... It will crack the bottom.... and then u know what happens.... Ive seen it happen.....

If he has a sandbed, how would they peck at the bottom glass? It would mean he has to dig through an inch or two of sand?

there is always someone who wants a mantis I have had a tank set up for almost 6 months just for one but they are sob's to catch first you have to find his home the trap might work but you may catch everything else in your tank first

Is it possible that snails make clicking sounds as well? I heard that could happen when they twist their ligaments. I'm just throwing this out there since I am in the same situation as well.

they love to dig but the clicking could be anything breaking snail or hermit breakin rock they have to be big to break glass
