My tiger shrimp wont let my goby in his house

It's been a few weeks and my tiger shrimp wont let my Goby in his caves.

Tiger is around 2"s and Randalls Goby around an inch, I'm thinking the Goby is too small....


Poor Goby, he knows what to do and is always trying to get into the shrimps cave but the shrimp starts snapping and my randalls goby races to the other side of the tank only to slowly keep going back to the shrimp cave.

I must have a shrimp and goby pair, that's the reason I got these 2 guys.:uhoh3:


Should I get another smaller and different species of pistol?

I don't know about compatibility between your particular two species, but in the wild specific species of shrimp pair up with particular gobies. Apparently its the shrimp which is more fussy about beginning a relationship with the fish, than the other way around.

Guess the first thing to do is check that you have the correct species together....
