My Upgrade Diary with Pics

It has been a long time since I have posted an update to my thread. There have been some major changes, Lighting, Skimmer, Chiller, Phos Reactor.

I upgraded my lighting to 2x250w SE MH Reeflux 10k Bulbs running on Coralvue Dimmable Ballasts. Also changed out my T5's for Actinics. Upgraded my Skimmer by installing a Mesh Mod, and changing the pump out for a Sedra 5000.

I have to empty the Skimmate every day.

Had a Temp issue after istalling the Lighting, so I had to fo back to the LFS and buy a JBJ Arctica 1/4HP Chiller.

Then after testing my PO4 i found out that I had .05 Phosphates in my tank........... Ran to the LFS and purchased a PhosReactor and Rowa-Phos Media.

Now the Corals I have added many!!!

Now this is very Pic Intense........ Here we go.

Thanks Guys, I am real happy with the results i'm getting.

I have about 110 lbs of LR in the Display.

Time for an Update. Last week was a very sad week for me. I lost my Red Sea Regal Angel. He lasted 2 months. was eating fine. And I guess it just decided that its time to go. I don't know what else to say but RIP.

Its pretty funny actually, the day my Angel died another Red Sea Regal at the LFS died too.

But anyway, I will try the Red Sea Regal again, at a later time. Most probably when I get the next bigger tank.

Here are my Test Results:

Temp - 77.9-79.1
PH - 8.3 (Salifert)
Ammonia - 0 (API)
Nitrite - 0 (API)
Nitrate - 2.5 (Salifert)
Calcium - 432 (Tropic Marin)
Alk/dKH - 8.0 (Salifert)
Phosphates - 0 (Salifert)
Iodide - 0.03 (Salifert)
Magnesium - 1540 (Red Sea)
Specific Gravity - 1.025 (Red Sea)

Everything is pretty much very stable. I am having an outbreak of Cyano (Red Slime) but right now who isn't.

Here are some new additions:

Red People Eaters (Thanks Jesse)

you probably have the most stocked and most expensive 70 gallon on reefcentral lol dont mind to be rude but what is your system worth right now coral wise

Thanks a lot. I never counted exactly how much I spent. But I would say its around $3,000 to $4,000 just on corals.

Since I went out to fill my tank with high-end, hard to find corals.

Unfortunatly i'm running out of space. Oh well time for a bigger tank.
