Mysis Culture

Mine was pretty simple. I bought a pool filter basket and a pool net bag from the local ppol store Leslies.

I put the basket inside of the bag put that into a 20g. Put some chaeto inside of the bucket, and then some msysid shrimp.

The bucket inside of the bag kept the parents in and let the babies out. When the babies got big enough I moved them to a different 20g tank so they wouldn't eat the new babies.

Fed cyclopeeze and bbs. Also some rots. All frozen.

Mine was even more simple... probably much less effective - but populations did increase. I put them in a 10 gallon with a huge chunk of chaeto for the babies to hide in... a few small pieces of live rock and a sponge filter. Fed them live bbs and rots. Unfortunately, the ph took a plunge, I still don't know why, and they all died.

Don't do what I did, because it apparently didn't work.

I put 200 mysis and put 100 in the refugium and 100 in the display. Both areas are loaded with hiding places or like the fuge has so much macro you can't see through it.

I don't know my friend has tons of mysis in her fuge I don't get it.
