Mystery white slug help

Today I noticed a white slug on my front glass. It's all white, about 1/2" long stretched out and has two upward facing horns that appear to be grey and black banded. The top appears just white as well and does not appear to have any nudibranch cerata making it smooth on top. It doesn't have a shell - I have some stomatella in my tank so I'm pretty sure it's not one of them. I sucked it out in case it was a predator (it's in a jar now) but I was wondering if anyone has seen these in their tanks?

I tried taking a picture but my camera is not good enough unless you just want to see a white fuzzy blur. :)

If it doesn't have cerata, and doesn't have an exposed gill on its back (feathery looking thing), it's probably an arminid nudibranch. They are predators, and hitch into aquaria on clove polyps pretty often. That's a guess, but if you can get a pic, the experts on here (or maybe even I) can probably ID it for you.

Cheers,

Don

Interesting, since I just added some clove polyps a couple weeks ago that were struggling in a friends tank. I gave them an iodine/FWE dip and tons of fireworms, little starfish, and other unknowns fell out of them. They're doing quite well now, but you never know if this guy made it through the dip or was an egg at the time...

Anyway, this pic is the best I got. The dark on the right end are the horns pointing toward the camera.

Looks like you found him. Hopefully you won't have an infestation of them, but keep an eye out.

Cheers,

That is the plan. I think I see something that looks like a cluster of eggs by the clove polyps. They are not the typical spiral of eggs but I think I'll scrape them off anyway.
