mystery wrasse = NOT reef safe!

Well, it's not eating corals, so I guess by that definition it is still reef safe. But my little guy is terrorizing my entire CUC. It's killed several porcelain and Sally lightfoot crabs, several dozen peppermint shrimp and ghost shrimp, and constantly harasses my hermit crabs. Luckily, I catch all my inverts locally so it's no hit on the wallet... but damn!

My wrasse eats frozen/prepared foods very well, so it's not like it's going hungry. Oh well...

Mine ate all ornamentals except for my pistol b/c my yellow watchman would kick his butt... They definitely shouldn't be listed as reef safe, they actually can get pretty fish aggressive as well as they mature. I actually just added a couple big mexican turbos this weekend and they were lunch today for him. If you think about it, they are as "reef safe" as a Tuskfish, but aren't listed as so, mabye it has to do with the demand and the high price tag...

That is simply what they do.

I have to cover my snails in the sand with sand during maint becaouse my leopard comes to get them!

Small shrimps are expensive meals too. My big scarlet and fire shirmps 3" have been fine but I'm sure the peppermints for aptaisia control were tasty

yes mostly all Pseudocheilinus ocellatus genus wrassese will eat inverts.
My experience is some small crabs, nubibrance, peppermints, turbo snails.

my sixline wipe out my peppermints (live one about 12) at one stages..
my sixline is only abt little bit shy of 40mm.

good luck guys it all about nature.. nothing wrong with that. i have a friend breed peppy
so it cheap healthy food for the fish.. i notice with healthy live food the wrasses colour are more intense. all the best.
