Mystery Wrasse??

Hi all,

I have 2 leopard wrasses and was wondering if the mystery wrasse would harass them. The mystery wrasse I'm looking at is about 3" long or so which is the same size as my largest leopard (the other is about 1.5").

Current tank is a standard 75g with about 100lbs of LR, sps dominated. Other tank mates include a scopas tang, and rabbit fish (2x leopard wrasses).
any input would be greatly appreciated.

That is somewhat unpredictable. However I would not try one with leopards, flashers, or fairy wrasses.

mine was fine with my leopard, they didn't even pay attention to each other.

my friend also has one with about 10 other wrasses.

The problem can also be that in a smallish tank, they compete for food. Leopards can be difficult in any case. I happen to like the looks of mystery wrasses, but am unwilling to put my other wrasses at risk.

According to Marine Center: "An ideal fish for the reef aquarium, this recently described species was collected for the trade long before it was described. Once thought to occur only in a few isolated areas, it has been recorded from Australia, Marshall Islands and other locations throughout the Indo-Pacific. Found only in deep water, further exploration will likely expand its range. Bold and hardy with a great appetite, The Five Bar Wrasse is ideal for the reef or fish only aquarium. Also known as "Mystery Wrasse" and "Tail Spot Wrasse". Average size is around 1"-2". It feeds on small invertebrates and crustaceans." Very hardy. I still would worry about putting it in with lots of shrimp or with other wrasses.
